David Thomas has been Chairman of the British Polish Chamber of Commerce since 2003 and, previously, was its Vice Chairman from 2000 to 2003. He is also currently Chairman of the International Group of Chambers of Commerce in Poland.

Based in Poland since 1989, his employment history includes Country Head, Coopers & Lybrand; Deputy CEO of Schroder; Head of Investment Banking, ING Barings (Executive Director of Baring Brothers UK); Managing Director of HSBC and Head of Corporate and Investment Banking.

During his career, David has been responsible for three >$1billion transactions and several milestone projects in the economic transformation of Poland including:

First IPO (Exbud)
First Bank IPO (BIG Bank SA)
First $0.5bn IPO (Elektrim)
Creation of Ekofundusz
Restructuring of the Power Sector
Restructuring of Gas sector
Drafting of Poland's Audit Law

Married with two children, as well as Poland, David has also lived and worked in Norway, Africa and the Middle East.
