 COBCOE
is an independent, non-profit making organisation representing
British chambers of commerce throughout Continental Europe.
Acting as an umbrella organisation, we work with our 27 member
chambers to advance international trade and business with
the United Kingdom.
As such, we give a voice to about 7,000 businesses from all
sectors of trade and industry involved in business with the
UK.
Our aim is to protect and promote the interests of our constituent
chambers - and their business members - through representation,
cooperation and trade stimulation. To do this, we liaise closely
with governments and organisations including the Confederation
of British Industry (CBI), Institute
of Directors (IoD), and British
Chambers of Commerce (BCC) to ensure that our members’
needs and concerns are addressed.

| Following the successful introduction of a pre-conference training seminar for chamber CEOs, a follow-on seminar will be lead again by Gerry Doyle, Expert Consultant and former Chief Executive of the South Dublin CCI. The seminar is open to all officers of COBCOE member chambers. |

| Gala Dinner |
|
| COBCOE’s 2009 Gala Dinner will again take place at the Royal Automobile Club in London with a prestigious guest speaker. The Chamber of the Year Awards will also be given out at the dinner. All members of COBCOE Chambers may attend with their guests and network with European and British business and political leaders and members of other COBCOE Chambers and their guests.

| Visit to international institutions |
|
| Organised by the COBCOE Public Affairs Commission, a delegation will visit the WTO, WIPO, the WHO and other institutions and attend a lunch organised jointly with the British Swiss Chamber of Commerce, addressed by Mr Pascal Lamy, Secretary General of the World Trade Organisation.
