One of COBCOE’s key roles is to represent the interests of its members, to work with national and European parliamentarians, civil servants and ministers, to monitor key current and prospective business legislation and to take positions thereon on behalf of its membership and to run events relating to public affairs. To that end, in April 2006, COBCOE adopted a statement of principles setting out the basic position of the organisation in relation to international business and it was decided that COBCOE would establish a Public Affairs Commission.

The PAC works in accordance with its terms of reference set by the Executive Committee and following the COBCOE statement of principles and reports both to the EC and the Council.

The PAC is led by COBCOE President Howard Rosen and its membership, comprisea professionals working in the area of government affairs and delegates from certain member chambers.
